About The Kirkwood

The Kirkwood provide specialist care, free of charge, to adults in Kirklees with advanced, progressive illnesses at any time from diagnosis to the end of life, respecting their individual needs and wishes. Care and support are also provided for their family members, friends and carers, both during the illness and after death. Through education, training and partnership with others, they improve care for everyone affected by a life limiting illness.

Challenge

The Kirkwood’s Head of Retail and Trading, Paul Freethy, has worked with Nisyst for over a decade through other charities, including YMCA England and Wales, and North West Air Ambulance. When starting his new role at The Kirkwood, it was apparent that they were using a system which didn’t work for them. They weren’t getting value for money and wanted more.

The team were spending lots of time completing their reporting, and they weren’t receiving the level of account management they had previously been used to or had a system which had fixes for any glitches. Also, their data analysis in their stock control and buying department wasn’t at the level it needed it to be.

Ultimately, the hospice was looking for a solution which had a driving edge in the charity sector, and they were confident that ChariotWeb would help them develop and grow as a hospice.

Solution

ChariotWeb was rolled across seventeen physical shops and on their online eBay operations. Each shop took around two to three hours to transfer to ChariotWeb and The Kirkwood team were happy with the quick changeover.

The data migration required a lot of testing, and the entire move to ChariotWeb took three months in total, which they felt was efficient, as challenges from their previous software had to be resolved during this process.

ChariotWeb has proven to be user-friendly, is maximising their revenue and has streamlined their retail operations. Our solution has access to live data and is designed to tackle any everyday changes they might face. Their favourite feature is having access to more data, in particular, the ability to monitor store performance 24/7 from anywhere with a web browser, which features a wide variety of reporting capabilities and customisable dashboard widgets.

Outcome

The impact of the partnership has been transformational and has hugely positively impacted The Kirkwood and the team have had no negative feedback.

They have recently looked at the developments coming to ChariotWeb in the near future and are excited to see the next upgrade unfold.

Paul Freethy, Head of Retail and Trading, said…

“The team at Nisyst have a ‘can do’ attitude, are attentive, friendly and welcoming. Their commitment to the sector is second to none and their staff, who all have the sector and customer interests at heart, have been working there a long time. We came across unexpected twists and turns and I panicked during the process at some stages, but they were extremely reassuring throughout. When I have needed weekend tech support, they have been there whenever I have required any help. We couldn’t be happier!”
